What Is The Best Way To Reduce High Nitrite Levels In My Pond?

If you see high levels of ammonia, nitrite, or nitrate, do a 10 to 20 percent water change. Just adding new water won’t fix the problem; it only makes harmful substances less concentrated, which can still harm your fish. If your koi are badly affected by sudden poor water quality, you may need to change 20 to 30 percent of the water each day for a short while. High nitrite levels usually mean that the helpful bacteria in your pond aren’t growing properly. During this time, improve aeration and do partial water changes to help fix the problem. You can also add beneficial bacteria products to your pond to speed up the process. We would recommended Evolution Aqua Pure + Filter Start Gel
