This all new Aqua Forte Drum Filter is a break though in both technology and price level! The first truly affordable drum filter. The Aqua Forte Drum Filter is supplied with a professional, software based controller and can be used on both pump and gravity fed systems.

The Aqua Forte Drum Filter has a low installation height of just 10cm above the water level and is a perfect solution for those wishing to go to the next level without breaking the bank.

The drum filter has three 110mm Inlet connections and two 110mm outlet connections for connecting multiple pumps or for gravity exit into a bio chamber. The waste outlet is is also 110mm in size.

The Aqua Forte Drum Filter can accommodate flow rates up to 25m³/h (5500 gallons per hour), and the controller with it’s custom software contains many safety options and functions including motor slow start, motor amp protection, manual cleaning button and standard hourly cleaning etc.

The construction of this new Drum filter is made from an injection moulded housing made of HDPE, where the white parts are made of POM (Polyoxymethylene) a hard strong polymer.

Draco Drum Bio Unit was designed to co-ordinate with the Draco Drum Solum Range of drum filters, they utilise the same curved base configuration to reduce dirt traps and can be installed either singly or in multiples.

How does the Draco Drum Bio Unit work?

Operation of the Draco Drum Bio Unit

Draco Drum Bio Unit unit is configured as a downward flow, diverted input unit with longitudinal air delivery, to manage water flow around the chamber, maximising the active volume for bio filtration.

Incoming water at the top will have a tendency to “track” diagonally or straight down to the outlet, the path of “least resistance”. By making it interact with the air from the bottom of the tank, this waterflow is disrupted and forced back upwards.

If part of the incoming flow is diverted towards the centre of the tank, the water is forced into the area where the air is rising, enhancing this flow disruption and pushing the water out to the sides.

As the water is pushed sideways at the surface of the unit, it has no choice but to travel downwards when it hits the side. The bottom of the chamber is curved, helping that downward flow turn into a circulatory movement. When reaching the airbar right at the bottom of the unit, the water is forced back up to repeat the circulation until it exists out of the far end. This curved bottom also eliminates any corners where debris may accumulate.
