The Ray Temp 3 infrared thermometers are a compact, lightweight and easy to use. Simply aim, pull the trigger and display the temperature of the item being measured, in addition the LCD will display the maximum temperature.

These Ray Temp 3, use the latest laser alignment technology, which measures temperature over the range from -60º to 500ºC with an assured accuracy of ±1%ºC. As mentioned above the Ray Temp 3 is simple and easy to use with out the need to focus or calibrate the unit, simply ‘point and shoot’. Manufactured to food grade standards this thermometer is really versatile and can be applied to numerous applications without the risk of cross-contamination.

Each Ray Temp 3 features a a single push button allowing the user to select between ºC and ºF. The thermometer also incorporates laser assisited alignment as standard, to assist in pin-pointing the area of measurment. The unit also incorporates an 11:1 optic ration (target distance/diameter ratio) and a fixed emissivity of 0.97.

Did you know that you pond water temperature effects your pond fish health? I guess I thought that, being cold-blooded, pond fish could adapt to pretty much any temperature. Well, this is sort of true up to a point, but the fact is that temperature has big effects on the health of your fish, and there are some things that you can do to keep your fish as healthy as possible, depending on what season it is.

  • Spring- the fluctuation in temperatures can be very stressful on your fish. (those who have wintered in your pond especially!) Two ways to help with the stress. When your going to have a cold snap, turn your fountain or waterfalls off to slow down how fast your pond water cools. Add pond salt to help develop a healthy slime coat on your fish. This helps the fish naturally fend off any bacterial infections and parasites.
  • Summer- The perfect pond water should be in the range of 68  to 74 degrees Fahrenheit. Water loses much of its ability to hold oxygen when the temperature is above 85 degrees. Your fish won’t be able to breathe. This is when aerators, fountains and waterfalls help oxygenate the water. (Higher oxygen levels also decreases algae growth!!)
  • Winter- Your fish’s metabolism slows when your water cools down. They don’t need to eat when the temperature stays below 39 degrees Fahrenheit. An easy to digest food is suggested if the water is above 39 degrees. If you live in an area the your water freezes, keep part of your pond open so that the toxic gases can be released. Don’t break the ice to keep an open hole, the shock waves through the water can hurt your fish.

Its always a good Idea to have some sort of thermometer in your pond . So the Small Floating Thermometer is a great place to start !

The IR-Pocket thermometer is a non-contact infrared thermometer that has an easy to read, LCD display with low battery indication. Simply aim at the target and press the measure button to display the surface temperature instantly. The IR-Pocket indicates temperature over the range of -9.9 to 199.9 °C with an assured accuracy of ±2% of reading or ±2°C whichever is greater.

The IR-Pocket thermometer features a two-button keypad, pressing the mode button allows the user to access a variety of functions, i.e. max/min, °C/°F, lock and emissivity. The lock function allows for continuous temperature measurement and the emissivity is adjustable so the user can measure a variety of surface types. An auto-power off facility automatically turns the instrument off after 15 seconds, maximising battery life.

The IR-Pocket infrared incorporates LED spot alignment, which allows the user to precisely target the diameter of the area to be measured. The LED pointer is safer for the eyes than laser pointers. As you move closer or further from the target the LED spot changes diameter indicating the area being measured.

The default emissivity is 0.95 but is adjustable to enable temperature measurement of a variety of surface types.

The Mini RayTemp infrared thermometer is a compact, lightweight and low cost infrared thermometer. Simply aim and pull the trigger to display the temperature of the item being measured.

The Mini RayTemp® measures temperature over the range of -50 to 330°C with an assured accuracy of ±2°C over the range of 0 to 330°C, outside of this range (-50 to 0°C) accuracy is ±4°C.

This infrared thermometer has a clear, easy to read, LCD display with low battery, and backlight indication and an auto power off facility that turns the instrument off after 10 seconds, maximising battery life.
