You should replace the UV lamp in your UV unit every year.
Although the lamp may still burn, it no longer emits the right UV radiation.
Depending on your UV unit, you will need an energy efficient PLS lamp, which have two pins at one end, we stock the 9 watt PLS and the 11 watt PLS
Or you may need the latest generation T8 lamps which have two pins at each end, these units are used in the TMC and Yamitsu Algae Master range of units.
Take care when ordering your replacement UV lamp, ensure that you buy the right replacement lamp.
UV Replacement Lamps
Be sure to clean the quartz glass of the unit carefully before installing the new lamp to optimise the light transmission.
Important Note: When ordering UV lamps please make sure you open the box to make sure the lamps are not broken before signing the delivery note, if the bulbs are damaged please sign the delivery note “Damaged” and refuse delivery.
A claim will ONLY be accepted if signed for as DAMAGED.

The Oase Filtoclear Quartz Sleeve insulates the lamp from the water, allowing the lamp to operate at the optimum performance.
The ultraviolet lamp will remain independent of the flow of water.
Quartz is extremely transparent over a wide spectral range, with a low coefficient of thermal expansion and quartz is resistant to scratching and thermal shock. Fused quartz is made form crushing and melting natural materials. The purity of quartz is paramount to the efficiency of the lamp and sleeve.

The ultraviolet lamp will remain independent of the flow of water. Yamitsu Quartz Sleeves are of open-ended construction and are made from pure fused quartz.

Fused quartz is made from crushing and melting natural materials. The purity of quartz is paramount to the efficiency of the lamp and sleeve.

A new series of professional Stainless Steel UVC-units for ponds, pools, whirpools etc. The Delta Ultraviolet’s Elektra® Pro Delta Bio-UV series of UV sanitizers have been in production since 1999. These 100% Stainless Steel housing systems have become the “Cadillac” of UV sanitizers for the Koi Pond industry and have gained a reputation second to none for quality, functionality, performance and reliability.
Five different model sizes are available for circulation systems with water flow rates from 800 GPH (3,600 LPH) to 3,450 GPH (15,600 LPH). All models are available in 120V and 240V 50/60 Hz electrical ratings for worldwide application.
Exclusive features, as mentioned above include a 316 stainless steel housing that allows for 360° rotation of the inlet and outlet unions for ease of installation. Another key exclusive feature not commonly found in similar units is the inclusion of unions at each end of the stainless steel housing to facilitate cleaning of the quartz tube, should it be necessary.
As you can clearly see from the image below these UV’s can be mounted either vertically or horizontally.
Like all Delta Ultraviolet systems, Delta’s propriety High Output (HO) low pressure lamp is capable of 30,000 µ/sec./cm2 output lamp end-of-life (EOL) when design flow rates are maintained. This is the same requirement for Class A drinking water. The long life lamp is rated at 9000 hours of continuous use (approximately 1 year).

The Oase UV Replacement Bulbs are characterized by there high quality. Since the UVC clarifier is mostly in constant use, the effect can wear off after approx. 8000 hours. It is therefore recommended that the lamps be replaced at regular intervals. It is best to think about this in spring so that your clarifier is ready for the whole pond season. These are available in 7 different sizes.
