Kusuri Fluke S 

Kusuri Fluke S is a 50% Praziquantel based medication used to eradicate Gill Flukes, Body Flukes and Tape Worms. This treatment is safe to use without destroying the bacteria in the filter and can be used at any temperature. While dosing with Fluke S you can continue to feed. This product is designed as a one off treatment, but may require a second dose after 7 days in heavy infestation. Alternatively you can use Kusuri Fluke M after 7 days. If the mucus layer is excessive, we advise dosing with Chloramine T  at 15g per 1000 gallons, 24 hours before using Fluke S, this will assist in reducing the mucus membrane where body flukes can sometimes get trapped. Kusuri Fluke S

SKIN FLUKES – a four day regime: Day 1 – Before using KUSURI Fluke S we recommend you treat with KUSURI Chloramine T  to assist mucus layer removal – Apply 15g of Chloramine T  per 4,546 litres (1,000 gallons). Please check your pH and KH prior to using as Chloramine T  can be very toxic in soft water. If your pH is below pH7 (acid) and has a general hardness below 6°dH (soft water) reduce the dose by 75%. Do NOT use with salt. Day 2 – Treat with KUSURI Fluke S using a full dose treatment. Day 3 – 1/2 dose KUSURI Fluke S treatment. Day 4 – 1/2 dose KUSURI Fluke S treatment.

GILL FLUKES – a four day regime: Treat as for Skin Flukes, as above, the four day regime. After 10 days scrape again. If Gill Flukes are still present repeat Day2/Day3/Day4 KUSURI Fluke S treatments again. This allows for the eradication of life cycle and eggs.

DO NOT OVERDOSE. Over dosing can cause fish fatalities.

Caution: Please check your pH and KH prior to using. Chloramine T can be very toxic in soft water. If your pH is below pH7 (acid) and has a general hardness below 6°dH (soft water) reduce the dose by 75%. Do not use with salt. For use with all cold water ornamental fish. Please ensure that you read, understand and follow, all Health and Safety guidelines. Please do not eat, drink or smoke whilst handling chemicals. Wear disposable vinyl or latex gloves and appropriate eye protection.

How To Use

Switch UV steriliser, carbon filter and protein skimmer off until treatment is complete for a minimum of three days. Clean filter before applying KUSURI Fluke S for optimum effectiveness.

Check water temperature before use. For best results use above 12°C. Below 12°C parasites become dormant. Be aware of day to evening temperature fluctuations. Measure the correct dose and dissolve in a container with hot water. Allow the hot mixture to cool, continue to mix while adding slowly to the return of the pond over a one hour period. We recommend a scrape and microscope identification prior to treating to ascertain whether you have skin or gill flukes, as the treatment regime is different.
If a drum filter is being used, either by pass, or remove the screen for the duration of the Fluke S treatment.  If Bakki Showers are being used, either turn off or remove the media and place in the pond for the duration of the treatment. Being powder based it does not suit drum filters or Bakki Showers.
Health And Safety

Store in original container between 2°C and 30°C. Keep out of reach of children. For animal pond water treatment only. Always wear protective gloves and goggles when handling chemicals. Use within 3 months of opening. Do not use in conjunction with any other medication other than stated above. Do not use with salt.

How To Use

Use Roccal Wound Cleaner to clean the treatment area. After using Anti-Bac sprinkle Brava Powder, blow off excess powder. Allow powder to absorb into the wound (about 20-30 seconds). Lightly wet again with the Anti Bac and re apply if required. Finally apply Top Coat Sealer over powder and surrounding area. Allow sealer to dry off for at least 50 – 60 seconds.

Excellent for the eradication of Trichodina & Costia, and other parasites. It will discolour water for up to 7 days, and can be used down to 10°C (50°F). At higher temperatures Potassium Permanganate removes oxygen from pond water, it is advisable to keep an air stone running and add more air if possible. Kusuri Hydrogen Peroxide 6% can be used to increase the oxygen levels in pond water and also remove the discolouration from the pond water after a course of Kusuri Potassium Permanganate has oxidized from pink to brown.
