The OASE replacement sponge set for FiltoClear 5000 pressure filters is optimally matched to these filters. The sponges are extremely resilient and dimensionally stable. This is particularly important for sponges that are squeezed and released during the cleaning process in the filter using cleaning handles. The optimally selected pore size ensures a constant and even flow of the water to be cleaned. For lasting results it is recommended to replace the sponges at the beginning of the pond season in March/April. After replacing the filter sponges, it is advisable to use OASE filter starter preparations to accelerate the regeneration of the pond biology in the filter. For FiltoClear 12000 The heart of a filter is its filter sponges – especially this filter sponge set, which combines the blue and red sponges in a small space. Red filter sponges have fine filtration properties, while the blue ones have coarse filtration properties. This means that, depending on the flow rate of the water, small or only larger particles get caught in the sponges and are thus removed from the pond water. However, they not only perform the classic filtration function, but also provide plenty of living space for the smallest bacteria. This small biological oasis in the red filter sponges ensures the conversion of toxins in the pond: toxic substances are converted into harmless but algae-stimulating substances (nitrification), which in turn are converted into naturally occurring gases (denitrification). The blue filter sponges provide additional support in the denitrification process. Read more
