Kockney Koi Water purifiers are used to ensure your garden tap water is free of chlorine, heavy metals and other items that have been added, making the water totally safe for your fish. In simple terms the purifiers work by passing water through activated carbon and out into the pond providing chemically cleaner, chlorine free water. The chlorine and metals added to water varies from area to area and so there are no hard and fast rules as to how long the carbon will work before it is exhausted and needs to be changed, However, the life of the carbon can be prolonged by regularly back-flushing the unit (this should also be carried out before use the first time), and our Water Purifiers have a really easy to use back-flushing system added into it and gives a good amount of space inside the vessel to allow the carbon to percolate and move around when in back flush mode to give a efficient back flush system.
