SuperSieve (Pump Fed)
The SuperSieve Pump Fed system offers a straightforward solution for removing larger particles of dirt (over 0.2 mm) from pond water. Specifically designed for ponds where the pump resides within the pond itself, this system efficiently filters dirty water before it reaches a biological filter.
At the heart of the SuperSieve Pump is its specialized industrial curved screens. These screens consist of razor-sharp triangular rods angled in relation to each other, incorporating a precise 300-micron (0.3 mm) slit. As water flows against the sharp edges of the triangles, surface tension is broken, allowing dirt particles to be pushed away from the screen and lifted out of the water. The dirt then slides down the screen until it collects in the SuperSieve’s dirt gutter.
Comprising two main parts – the pre-chamber and the chamber housing the screen element – the SuperSieve optimizes dirt separation and flow through the screen. The closed pre-chamber directs water at right angles to the screen element, enhancing dirt separation and increasing flow. Additionally, the design ensures that separated dirt is pushed towards the dirt gutter.
The screen element is meticulously sealed with specially manufactured rubbers on the housing to prevent unfiltered water or dirt from passing through. A lid on the housing minimizes noise and inhibits the growth of algae and bacteria on the screen element, maintaining optimal filtration performance.
