Aqua Source Kano Shower Media
Aqua Source Kano Shower Media
Aqua Source Kano Shower Media will help maintain excellent water quality and also maintain the eco balance in your pond. Ideal for all Shower type filters. Made from the finest quartz and minerals, far infrared is heated up to 1800C to break up the internal bonds and create an incredibly porous surface, which encourages good bacteria to colonise in the huge protected surface area. The Kano Media emits FAR infrared rays that break the bonds of the neighbouring water molecules thereby allowing more oxygen to be dissolved in the water. Larger organic solids are dissolved quicker than conventional media. Kano Shower Media does not degrade and is pH neutral. Read more

Kusuri Lithaqua Media
Kusuri Lithaqua
Kusuri Lithaqua is a natural calcified seaweed. A pH buffer that can last a number of years. Lithaqua is a marine mineral sometimes referred to as coral, however it is calcified seaweed, high in trace elements and carbonates. Ideal for use in tanks and filter bays. Average particule size is 2-4mm. Modern filters contain many varied plastic media. These provide good support for bacteria, but Lithaqua goes one stage further. Not only do beneficial bacteria draw nutrients from the media, the media being of porous construction has a huge surface area up to 20 times greater than most plastic media. However the main advantage of Lithaqua is the high level of Carbonates which will improve carbonate alkalinity in soft water. It neutralizes low acid pH and reduces pH swings. It will keep the pH above 7, negating the use of quick fix short term pH buffers. Read more

Oyster Shells
Oyster Shells
Oyster Shells – the sure way to always keep KH and pH values under control. Oyster shells have an exceptionally stabilising effect on the KH value and consequently indirectly on the pH value. The KH value provides an indication of the water’s carbonate hardness. A pond’s KH value generally is not measured regularly enough. Only when there are problems, and therefore too late, are there any interventions by adding remedies, such as KH+ powder. However, KH+ powder has a number of drawbacks: Read more
- A lot of powder quickly disappears via the bottom drain/ Filter system
- Short-term boost effect; major fluctuations in water values
- The need for continuous testing and adding powder
Shell size: Generally between 5-7.5cm in length. The number of shells can vary but as a working guide 1kg is likely to contain approximately 40 to 50 shell pieces.

Vortex Brushes
Vortex Brushes
Vortex chambers are good for settling out heavy waste but much less efficient with the lightweight particles. Have you noticed that even though you get a lot of waste in the bottom of your vortex, you still find that the subsequent chambers get very dirty too. This is the very fine particles that do not have time to settle in the vortex and so they get drawn through the transfer port into the next chamber. First, they physically trap the large particles that cannot pass through the close weave of the interlocking filaments. Secondly, the filaments have a static charge that ‘grabs’ any small particles that are flowing by. This charge holds onto the waste until you do your routine cleaning. Thirdly, after you have been using the brushes for a few weeks, the massive surface area of the brushes becomes home to millions of beneficial nitrifying bacteria that will help to purify your water biologically. Zeolite 10ltr (SuperFish)
Zeolite 10ltr (SuperFish)
Zeolite reduces the Ammonia in your pond creating a healthier environment for your Koi. It works by trapping and absorbing Ammonia, extracting it from your ponds water. Ammonia is the number one killer of pond fish, maintaining a health level of ammonia within in your ponds ecosystem is essential, and this product can aid in this process. As it absorbs the ammonia, soaking in salt overnight will release the entrapped ammonia enabling it to be reused. However, should you need to treat your pond with salt or other medications you must remove the Zeolite from your filter system as the entrapped ammonia will be released back into your system.
