Draco Drum Bio Unit was designed to co-ordinate with the Draco Drum Solum Range of drum filters, they utilise the same curved base configuration to reduce dirt traps and can be installed either singly or in multiples.
Advantages with the Draco Drum Bio Unit:

Operation of the Draco Drum Bio Unit
Draco Drum Bio Unit unit is configured as a downward flow, diverted input unit with longitudinal air delivery, to manage water flow around the chamber, maximising the active volume for bio filtration.
Incoming water at the top will have a tendency to “track” diagonally or straight down to the outlet, the path of “least resistance”. By making it interact with the air from the bottom of the tank, this waterflow is disrupted and forced back upwards.
If part of the incoming flow is diverted towards the centre of the tank, the water is forced into the area where the air is rising, enhancing this flow disruption and pushing the water out to the sides.
As the water is pushed sideways at the surface of the unit, it has no choice but to travel downwards when it hits the side. The bottom of the chamber is curved, helping that downward flow turn into a circulatory movement. When reaching the airbar right at the bottom of the unit, the water is forced back up to repeat the circulation until it exists out of the far end. This curved bottom also eliminates any corners where debris may accumulate.

The engineering and understanding of how filtration works was developed to produce Draco drum solum 25. As with the ‘Drop-in’ Draco drum range these have some unique features to help eliminate deadspots that are usually found in standalones.
The Draco drum solum 25 are pretty enough for you not to want to hide them away.
The remotely sited controller has start / emergency stop buttons and a knob allowing you to change the length of wash. LED indicator shows the length of time between washes in minutes. It also has 2 leads – one to plug in to the mains supply (110v and 230v, auto selectable) and one to plug in to the drum. Status of the unit is via 4 colour coded LEDs. We didn’t think we could make it any simpler than that.
Low voltage, sealed water valves and drive units utilising an extremely low geared direct drive system mean that only 12 volts is anywhere near your pond water.
The Draco drum solum 25 was designed to run without a noisy and power hungry wash pump in most circumstances (they are available if required) . On standby the unit can use less than 12 watts and in full wash mode, use 35 watts. It is entirely possible to run it off a car battery for prolonged periods of time.

Based on the highly successful OASE ProfiClear Premium L Drum Filter technology, the new ProfiClear XL pond filter system can be used to filter ponds up to 530,000 Litres (or 100,000 Litre Koi Ponds). The automated Drum Module has been oversized to remove particles and pollutants even in highly sedimented ponds. The XL Drum module is offered in both pump fed and gravity fed guises.
The Pump Fed XL Filter Drum features 5 water inlets for connection to submersed AquaMax Eco Expert pumps and the new Bitron Premium Ultraviolet Clarifiers. The Pump Fed XL Drum Filter Module is supplied with intelligent filter-mounted controller for automatic cleaning of the 16 individual drum filter sieves. Now look what we have here!. A drum filter for the price of a good quality sieve. If that was not enough, these Filtreau Drum filters come complete with a built in 40watt Amalagam UV as well. There is no other prefilter available on the market that represents such a good price.
These Filtreau Drum filters have been produced to provide an entry level into the drum filter market. But the quality of these drum filters are superb for the price and represent excellent value for money.
Designed for ponds up to 5000 gallons these Filtreau Drum filters have two 4″ (110mm) inlets and one 110mm outlet for connection of the circulation pump, and one 4″ (110mm) outlet for the waste.
The drum filter comes complete with all the control gear and as mentioned above also has a 40watt Amalagam UV built in.
This drum filter, with it’s 60 micron screen will filter particles out of the ponds water automatically with the automatic cleaning process that is built into the drum. Sensors monoitor the water levels within the drum filter and a cleaning cycle is activated as and when necessary to ensure that all waste particles are removed and then flushed to waste.
There are two options available for this backwash process, you can either connect the drum up to the mains water supply and use mains water to clean the drum (a solenoid valve will be required for this option which we can supply), or a optional pressure pump can be purchased which wll be controlled by the drums built in controller and use the water held within the drum to clean the drum’s screen.
The motor that rotates the drum and the control gear have been used on other drum filters in the Netherlands and fully tested over the past 3 years so you can buy with confidence both on quality and reliablity.
The manufacturer of this Filtreau Drum filter will be shortly releasing an add on Bio-Chamber that will connect to this drum filter to provide all the biological filtration required for your pond. We will update this section as soon as they are available. This option will then enable you to have the full benefits of a Bio-Compact system which are the most cost effective and environmentally friendly forms of pond filtration available as lower wattage pumps can be used on the circulation of your ponds water.
