Pond Log-Flocculant/Phosphate Remover

Pond Logs, Mini Pond Logs, and Pond Zingers are designed to work in flowing conditions.  As water moves over and around the log, it slowly dissolves, releasing its components into the water column causing excess inanimate nutrients, such as phosphorous, to bind together.  As they bind together, the particulate gets heavier and heavier and then settles to the bottom of the pond or is filtered out.

It is important to note that Pond Logs do not remove all the inanimate nutrients, just enough to create a healthy ecosystem.  Our pond products typically see a 75-90% reduction of phosphorus. All APS products are safe for fish; no need to monitor pH.

Dosage:

Pond Logs treat 20,000 to 100,000 gallons of water and Pond Zinger treats 500-12,000 gallons of water.

Installation:

APS Pond products can be installed above an aerator, under a floating fountain, on the steps of a waterfall or with any circulation mechanism.  The water must be moving over and around the Pond Products for them to work.

How to Dose

To minimize clouding of the water, a daily dose of 4g per 220 gallons ( 1,000 ltrs) will suffice. Best added in the evening

The Water Cleanser 
The Water Cleanser can best be described as a wax-like block to grow bacteria and microbes. If you put it under a strong microscope you will see millions of capillary openings that serve as a home for beneficial bacteria and microbes that provide a healthy water quality. The Water Cleanser also contains all the necessary trace elements for Archaea microbes and Bacillus bacteria.

How does the Water Cleanser work?
Useful bacteria and microbes naturally remove organic waste (uneaten feed, dead plant remains, dead algae, fish excrement, etc.). Influences from outside such as chemicals and fertilizers can disrupt the natural cycle and weaken the existing beneficial bacteria. Propolis Food Supplement

Propolis in liquid form is added to koi food and 250ml will treat up to 25kg.  Great for treating wounds round the mouth (including inside!) and the eyes of your koi, where other treatments would be dangerous to use.  Can even be used as a bath.  Sticks to wet mucus far better than anything available today and that’s a fact.  The research has shown that Propolis Food Supplement is effective against a range of bacteria, fungi and even viral infection, and it is known that Propolis stimulates the formation of antibodies to the immune system and is rich in vitamin A, B complex, E and flavenoids. (Foods containing flavenoids have been shown to reduce cell damage and disease in Humans)

Our Propolis is sold in its raw form, and is NOT diluted with unnecessary solvent, (with the exception of the spray form) so is very effective as a topical treatment and a little goes a long way. Please note that the spray variant is diluted in order to get it to atomise properly – in this form it is an ideal topical treatment where wounds have just started to heal, and helps avoid damage to new tissue formation.

For your koi use Propolis:

As a topical treatment for ulcers, sores, raised scales, especially useful round the mouth, eyes and gill area where the use of other medications would be inappropriate and even dangerous.

As a food additive, mix one teaspoon full of propolis with approx 2 – 3 handfulls of food and a little warmed water in a suitable container. Leave to stand for 15 minutes or so or until the food has absorbed all the liquid and feed to your koi. Use all food treated in this way within 48 hours.

Propolis will still work at lower temperatures, but for best results use at temperatures in excess of 13 deg C.

JPD mud booster clay is a very high quality clay which contains over 85% of pure Montmorillonite, considerably higher than other leading brands. Not only does it have such a high purity level, this clay is mined in Japan. One of only a few clays on the Koi market that originates from the home of Koi. The clay is mined in the Yasawagi Mountains, Akita district of Japan which is also home to the famous “Refresh Powder” clay also known as the white magic powder.

How to use JPD mud booster clay ? 

Firstly, being a natural product this clay is impossible to overdose. If dosing to the pond directly, it is advised to turn the U.V. off for 24 hours.

Dosage: 

Assuming a water change of 10% per week.

Use 10 grams to every 1000 litres of pond water. e.g. For a 5000 litre pond, add 50 grams of clay.

Dose every 2 to 4 weeks. If you change more water, then increase the dose frequency.

Add to a clean bucket/container of pond water, stir, and distribute around the pond.

Sprinkle or mix the JPD mud booster clay into your Koi food and treats.

Initially the Koi may turn away from the food, but with a bit of patience they’ll familiarise themselves to the new taste.
