Active Mix Bio is a combination of substances including photosynthetic and lactic acid bacteria, yeasts and trace elements. This combination has a positive impact on the natural balance and biological life resulting in a perfect equilibrium. It also strongly promotes the biological conversion of ammonia and nitrites into nitrates. The fact that this mix is already in an activated state means it has a direct and rapid effect on your pond.

Photosynthetic bacteria:

Produce substances that promote the growth of micro-organisms, especially heterotrophic bacteria. During conversion they produce valuable substances from organic waste and harmful matter in the water. Photosynthetic bacteria also compete with algae for nutrients and sunlight. In the case of algae, light is absorbed by chlorophyll, just like with regular plants. However, with photosynthetic bacteria, photosynthesis takes place directly in the cell. Consequently, this provides the additional benefit of reducing algae growth.

 

Lactic acid bacteria:

  • Suppress pathogenic germs and other harmful micro-organisms and promote a rapid degradation of organic material (waste substances).

Other additives in the Active Mix Bio (e.g. yeasts and trace elements) suppress harmful fungi and produce bioactive compounds. Effect of Active Mix Bio Biological processes occur everywhere, breaking down waste products and turning them into useful substances. The degradation and composition can take place in different ways depending on circumstances. The most important thing is to prevent degradation processes such as rotting. In the world of micro-organisms, various groups exist and these can either be useful or harmful. It is important that the useful ones maintain the upper hand if we are to prevent the rotting processes occurring. By adding Active Mix Bio, the useful bacteria receive a powerful boost at the expense of harmful micro-organisms. Active Bio Mix supports the nitrifying effects of the biological filter as well as the degradation of organic materials. Active Mix Bio is manufactured under GMP regulations and is free from harmful micro-organisms. Active Mix Bio is sold in a handy 2 litre bag-in-a-box with tap. This allows the right amount to be measured out without waste. Oxygen is also prevented from coming into contact with the remaining activated bacteria, maximising its shelf life, even after opening. The lactic acid bacteria in Biota Lacto are very useful for the biological balance and the breakdown of organic substances within the water. They produce various enzymes, including amylase, phytase, protease and lipase, which contribute to the breakdown of proteins and organic matter in the pond. During the cultivation process in the Biota Bacterial Activator, all beneficial substances for your pond are created. Dosage:

One 25 ml measuring spoon is sufficient after 24 hours of activation for 5,000 ltrs (1,100gallons) of pond water. A maximum of 10 measures of 25 ml can be activated in 1lt of water. After 24 hours of activation pour evenly around the pond. With bacterial problems, repeat the operation every day for 5 days. It is advisable to switch off all UV and ozone for at least 24 hours while treating.

How To Use:

Fill a trigger spray bottle with 1 litre of warm water then add 2 table spoons of burtons aquatics drum cleaner and allow to dissolve. Spray onto the drum mesh allow to sit for a minute then trigger a clean of the drum (lid on press OK). Alternatively mix 2-3 tablespoons of the drum cleaner with a small amount of water, then with a new soft paint brush gently apply the cleaner onto the mesh leave for a few minutes and then wash off. Turn the drum and apply to next section repeating the process until all the mesh is clean. Safe to go back to the pond in small amounts.

Oase PeriDox is developed to reduce the mass development and increase of parasites and algae in production ponds, like fish farms. PeriDox is a very easy to handle product, which does not endanger the fish stock. As soon as PeriDox comes into contact with the parasites or the swarmer’s this triggers an oxidation process. It destroys the cell structure of the parasites. The parasites die. With the recommended dosage and depending on the pond temperature swarmer’s that can normally survive for 33 to 48 hours are killed off in just 3 hours. However, as the adult parasites bring more swarmer’s into the water, PeriDox should be applied three to four times. Through the sanitation of the water not only parasites are prevented, but also many secondary affections. The oxygen that is released through the oxidation process is dissolved directly in the water and thus increases the oxygen content in the water. Oxygen can become depleted especially in the warm summer months or if there is too much sludge or too many fish in the pond, which leads to enormous losses. PeriDox can also be used to treat acute oxygen deficiency and to control the available oxygen in the water. The active oxygen reacts with the water and immediately increases dissolved oxygen.

Propolis in liquid form is added to koi food and 250ml will treat up to 25kg.  Great for treating wounds round the mouth (including inside!) and the eyes of your koi, where other treatments would be dangerous to use.  Can even be used as a bath.  Sticks to wet mucus far better than anything available today and that’s a fact.  The research has shown that Propolis Food Supplement is effective against a range of bacteria, fungi and even viral infection, and it is known that Propolis stimulates the formation of antibodies to the immune system and is rich in vitamin A, B complex, E and flavenoids. (Foods containing flavenoids have been shown to reduce cell damage and disease in Humans)

Our Propolis is sold in its raw form, and is NOT diluted with unnecessary solvent, (with the exception of the spray form) so is very effective as a topical treatment and a little goes a long way. Please note that the spray variant is diluted in order to get it to atomise properly – in this form it is an ideal topical treatment where wounds have just started to heal, and helps avoid damage to new tissue formation.

For your koi use Propolis:

As a topical treatment for ulcers, sores, raised scales, especially useful round the mouth, eyes and gill area where the use of other medications would be inappropriate and even dangerous.

As a food additive, mix one teaspoon full of propolis with approx 2 – 3 handfulls of food and a little warmed water in a suitable container. Leave to stand for 15 minutes or so or until the food has absorbed all the liquid and feed to your koi. Use all food treated in this way within 48 hours.

Propolis will still work at lower temperatures, but for best results use at temperatures in excess of 13 deg C.

Propolis is available in 500ml bottles and a 60ml spray.
