Pond Logs, Mini Pond Logs, and Pond Zingers are designed to work in flowing conditions.  As water moves over and around the log, it slowly dissolves, releasing its components into the water column causing excess inanimate nutrients, such as phosphorous, to bind together.  As they bind together, the particulate gets heavier and heavier and then settles to the bottom of the pond or is filtered out.

It is important to note that Pond Logs do not remove all the inanimate nutrients, just enough to create a healthy ecosystem.  Our pond products typically see a 75-90% reduction of phosphorus. All APS products are safe for fish; no need to monitor pH. Read more

How It Works:

APS Pond products can be installed above an aerator, under a floating fountain, on the steps of a waterfall or with any circulation mechanism.  The water must be moving over and around the Pond Products for them to work.

PeriDox is a very easy to handle product, which does not endanger the fish stock. As soon as PeriDox comes into contact with the parasites or the swarmer’s this triggers an oxidation process. How To Use:

Fill a trigger spray bottle with 1 litre of warm water then add 2 table spoons of burtons aquatics drum cleaner and allow to dissolve. Spray onto the drum mesh allow to sit for a minute then trigger a clean of the drum (lid on press OK). Alternatively mix 2-3 tablespoons of the drum cleaner with a small amount of water, then with a new soft paint brush gently apply the cleaner onto the mesh leave for a few minutes and then wash off. Turn the drum and apply to next section repeating the process until all the mesh is clean. Safe to go back to the pond in small amounts.

Dosage:

  • Use 1 level measuring spoon (25ml) is enough for 10,000lt (2250 gallons) of pond water after 24 hours activation.
  • A maximum 125ml or 5 level measuring spoons can be activated in 1lt of water using the Biota Bacterial Activator.
  • This can be repeated weekly while readings persist. Maintenance dose can then be done on a monthly basis.
  • Dosage can be done as low as 5c.
  • During treatment switch off all UVC and ozone for at least 24 hours after treatment.
  • Keep out of the reach and sight of children. Store at room temperature in a dark place and wash hands after use.
