Trickle filter operating principle:
A trickle filter’s operating principle is very simple. The water is pumped up and then well distributed across a perforated surface. This causes the water to splash down on the filter medium like a shower. This method causes the water to break up and absorb a great deal of oxygen: ideal for a biological system that demands a high level of oxygen. This is why a trickle filter starts up faster than other filters, such as multi-chamber systems or beadfilters. It therefore stands to reason that this is the system of choice for most cultivation farms.
SuperShower’s characteristics:
The SuperShower is a modular system. Every chamber module can be stacked on top of another module. This makes it possible to adjust or expand the filter to meet every need.
The water is pumped into the upper chamber. The water is distributed via a perforated plate, creating a perfect shower. The biofilter medium is located below this plate which is completely infiltrated by this shower. The water then flows through the perforated bottom to the next chamber. Since the chambers are not completely filled with filter media, there is a sufficient drop height for the water to redistribute itself and to break up after each chamber.
The lowest chamber also contains biofilter media. However, the bottom of this chamber is solid and the water flows out of this chamber back to the pond via the 3x 110 mm outlets.

Cotswold Koi are proud to introduce the New Blue Eco Pump 500 watt with exclusive True sine wave technology.
The Blue ECO Titanium pumps are the most ECO friendly electric pumps produced. They utilise brushless DC electric motor technology, and have an efficiency rating of 94.6% – this compares with normal electric motors with have an efficiency of 45 – 50%. The power and therefore energy consumption is fully adjustable from 10 – 100% of full power, so when reducing the R.P.M the energy consumption reduces accordingly. The pumps produce very little heat as 94% of the energy used goes to turn the impellor, which makes them ideal for dry applications.
The Blue Eco Pumps have an efficiency up to 94.6 %. The Blue Eco Pumps are whisper quite and come complete with seperate control unit.

The Blue Eco 4Flow Pumps are suited for the heavier work. The controller for these pumps offers many extra options.
The Blue Eco 4Flow Pumps have 4 optional timer programs that can control the pump capacity and duration up to 5 times per day. Also a cruise control option and a full automatic protection against dry running (optional).
Even the possibility for a second, external, control panel for remote control can be installed. Like the Blue Eco 240, Blue Eco 320 and Blue Eco 500, the display shows the hour counter, power consumption, amperage and RPM but also offers a vast number of messages to indicate problems. The Blue Eco pump can pay for itself within one year.

The Blue Eco 4flow pumphead is a loose pump head that mounts on the Blue Eco 500, Blue Eco 900, Blue Eco 1500 and Blue Eco 2200. The Blue Eco 4Flow pump head can be changed very easily.
The special Blue Eco 4Flow pump head provides unmatched flow. The head is lower than the regular Blue Eco pump head but the huge 3 inch inlet and outlet gives a masive increase in water capacity. The Blue Eco 4Flow pump head is made of Duplex and thus 100% chlorine and saltwater resistant.

The engineering and understanding of how filtration works was developed to produce Draco drum solum 16. As with the ‘Drop-in’ Draco drum range these have some unique features to help eliminate deadspots that are usually found in standalones.
The Draco drum solum 16 are pretty enough for you not to want to hide them away.
The remotely sited controller has start / emergency stop buttons and a knob allowing you to change the length of wash. LED indicator shows the length of time between washes in minutes. It also has 2 leads – one to plug in to the mains supply (110v and 230v, auto selectable) and one to plug in to the drum. Status of the unit is via 4 colour coded LEDs. We didn’t think we could make it any simpler than that.
Low voltage, sealed water valves and drive units utilising an extremely low geared direct drive system mean that only 12 volts is anywhere near your pond water.
The Draco drum solum 16 was designed to run without a noisy and power hungry wash pump in most circumstances (they are available if required) . On standby the unit can use less than 12 watts and in full wash mode, use 35 watts. It is entirely possible to run it off a car battery for prolonged periods of time.

Run Dry and overload protection
The Superfish ECO-plus E 5000 pump is equipped with Run Dry Protection, 10 seconds after being taken away from water, the water pump will stop to protect it from running dry, it will try to re start after 10 seconds, if without water, it will stop again, this cycle will repeat 5 times, then the pump will stop. To re-start the pump take plug from main and plug back in and ensure pump is working well.
The pump has a thermal overload safety device. In the event of any overheating of the motor, this device automatically switches off the pump. The cooling time is roughly 15 to 20 minutes, then the pump automatically comes on again. If the overload cutout is tripped, it is essential to identify and deal with the cause of the overheating.
