Biota Lacto Bacterial Treatment

The lactic acid bacteria in Biota Lacto are very useful for the biological balance and the breakdown of organic substances within the water. They produce various enzymes, including amylase, phytase, protease and lipase, which contribute to the breakdown of proteins and organic matter in the pond. In addition, lactobacilli produce substances such as bacitracin and reuterine that have an antibacterial effect and inhibit or kill the growth of pathogenic bacteria. During the cultivation process in the Biota Bacterial Activator, all beneficial substances for your pond are created. With the help of specially selected bacterial strains and the right nutrients, enzymes, antibiotic substances and lactic acids are produced during this process. Dosage:

One 25 ml measuring spoon is sufficient after 24 hours of activation for 5,000 ltrs (1,100gallons) of pond water. A maximum of 10 measures of 25 ml can be activated in 1lt of water. After 24 hours of activation pour evenly around the pond. With bacterial problems, repeat the operation every day for 5 days. It is advisable to switch off all UV and ozone for at least 24 hours while treating.

How To Use:

Fill a trigger spray bottle with 1 litre of warm water then add 2 table spoons of burtons aquatics drum cleaner and allow to dissolve. Spray onto the drum mesh allow to sit for a minute then trigger a clean of the drum (lid on press OK). Alternatively mix 2-3 tablespoons of the drum cleaner with a small amount of water, then with a new soft paint brush gently apply the cleaner onto the mesh leave for a few minutes and then wash off. Turn the drum and apply to next section repeating the process until all the mesh is clean. Safe to go back to the pond in small amounts.

Propolis Food Supplement

Propolis Food Supplement

Propolis in liquid form is added to koi food and 250ml will treat up to 25kg. Great for treating wounds round the mouth (including inside!) and the eyes of your koi, where other treatments would be dangerous to use. Can even be used as a bath. Sticks to wet mucus far better than anything available today and that’s a fact. The research has shown that Propolis Food Supplement is effective against a range of bacteria, fungi and even viral infection, and it is known that Propolis stimulates the formation of antibodies to the immune system and is rich in vitamin A, B complex, E and flavonoids. (Foods containing flavonoids have been shown to reduce cell damage and disease in Humans). Our Propolis is sold in its raw form, and is NOT diluted with unnecessary solvent, (with the exception of the spray form) so is very effective as a topical treatment and a little goes a long way. Please note that the spray variant is diluted in order to get it to atomise properly – in this form it is an ideal topical treatment where wounds have just started to heal, and helps avoid damage to new tissue formation. For your koi use Propolis:

As a topical treatment for ulcers, sores, raised scales, especially useful round the mouth, eyes and gill area where the use of other medications would be inappropriate and even dangerous.

As a food additive, mix one teaspoon full of propolis with approx. 2 – 3 handfuls of food and a little warmed water in a suitable container. Leave to stand for 15 minutes or so or until the food has absorbed all the liquid and feed to your koi. Use all food treated in this way within 48 hours.

Propolis will still work at lower temperatures, but for best results use at temperatures in excess of 13 deg C.

Propolis is available in 500ml bottles and a 60ml spray.
